Important changes to authentication

It is important for both artist and collectors of their work to be sure they have a genuine piece of artwork or an authorised reproduction. The link on your certificate of authenticity has brought you here.

We used to say that having that QR code that brought you here was enough to verify the work. However, the certificates and codes have been replicated and used alongside work that is not the artists, as well as forged, misrepresented and unauthorised reproductions, so we no longer do this. This stopped in 2023. This does not mean your work is not authentic it just means that this is no longer enough to say the work is 100% genuine. Other forms of provenience would be required. This may include the certificate you have, and receipts and proof of purchase.

If you want to bring the work to us for us to authenticate it then this can be arranged.

Third Party seller Disclaimer

If you bought a JB Evans artwork from an external seller please read the following carefully.  Be aware that JB Evans original artworks as well as hand finished prints, Artist Proof’s, and Limited and First Edition Prints are currently sold with a certificate of authenticity (CoA). If you didn’t make your purchase from this website, Oriel Noah or at our gallery we cannot guarantee its legitimacy or its authenticity. We work with several art galleries, and suggest you contact them for a CoA. We cannot issue CoAs for artwork not sold directly by us or by our resellers/galleries. We do not issue CoAs for artwork sold in the past.So that is a very good start.
